This is the forum for the New Interfaces for Musical Expression (NIME) community. We are a community of artists, researchers, performers, hackers, musicians, and makers who are dedicated to creating and using and studying new musical interfaces. Every year we have a [conference](https://nime.org), but this is the place for ongoing discussions and community building. Welcome!

This is the “uncategorized” category, so feel free to start a discussion here about anything! As we grow, we hope to recategorise some of the contributions here.

### **The forum isn’t working what’s going on??**

If you have any issues joining or using the forum or problems with your account, contact `forum@nime.org`

The forum is hosted and managed by our community on a volunteer basis, so when issues pop up, they sometimes take a day or so to resolve. It’s really valuable to get your feedback if something is _not_ working, but please remember to be kind to the volunteers at the other end of the email. 🥳

### **I want to create a topic but can’t!!**

If you’re a new user, you may post on existing topics until your account is upgraded to [trust level 1](https://blog.discourse.org/2018/06/understanding-discourse-trust-levels/). If you have a question about NIME please ask it on an existing thread in the [conference category](https://forum.nime.org/c/conference/8) 🙂
