Dear NIME Community,
We are looking forward to you joining us in for the 2026 NIME Conference in London or online in June! We would like to make you aware of two opportunities that may be of interest:
(1) On Saturday 27 June (the day after the NIME 2026 conference finishes), from 12-5pm, we will be hosting a NIME Open Day, an informal social event and demo showcase which will take place at Imperial College London in South Kensington.
Attendance at the Open Day will be open to anyone regardless of whether they are registered for the NIME conference. Attendance is free but sign-up is required (even if you already registered for NIME) so we can manage numbers. Please use the following form to sign up and, optionally, to propose a demo:

Further information on the Open Day can be found at: https://nime2026.org/satellite-events/

(2) Thanks to a generous donation from Ableton, we are able to offer up to five scholarships (discounted registrations) for NIME 2026. These discounts will support free online attendance or free in-person student attendance; for non-students attending in person, the discount will support a reduced registration fee of £250 (the student early bird rate).
These scholarships are open to authors of accepted work (in any track) and will be allocated on the basis of financial need. As such, they are especially suited to students or independent practitioners without institutional support to attend NIME. Please respond to the following survey by Friday 1 May 11:59pm AoE to be considered: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/L3CD2iBMzF. We will notify applicants by Sunday 3 May.

Finally, we are extending the early bird registration deadline until Monday 4 May to accommodate delays in institutional finance systems for some authors. (The camera-ready deadline remains 30 April, 11:59pm AoE time) At least one author of every accepted submission must register by Monday 4 May, 11:59pm AoE.
If you have any questions, drop us a line at general-chairs@nime2026.org.
Best wishes,
Andrew McPherson and Courtney Reed
